Intention for Today

INTENTION FOR TODAY(1/17): We are an impatient people. We want results right away from instant coffee to meals ready in ten minutes; we hate call waiting. As a society we have lost the sense of time’s passage, finding it unfair. Is it any wonder that when we pray for relief from unremitting pain, watch the slow decline of a love one’s memory and functioning, or are confronted by our own helpless when we are caught up in situations we cannot control or change, that we find our Lord’s promise, “my grace is sufficient,” difficult to hear. In our prayer life today, may we find the courage to bear our crosses patiently and pray, “not my will, but yours, Lord. ”
