Tradition says that tonight, Halloween or All Hallow’s Eve, all the forces of evil are rampant on the earth. Unlike the ghouls, zombies, and grotesque monsters of the popular imagination, evil usually appears banal, logical, and ordinary. In our prayer life today let us ask our Lord for the wisdom to recognize evil no matter how it is disguised or how popular it is, praying, too, for the courage to challenge it.
