(1/18): It is often dangerous to assume, to believe that something is true without any proof. Our Lord says that part of the coming Kingdom includes the wheat being separated from the chaff. We tend to assume that we are wheat and others: folks we don’t like or with whom we disagree, people who are not like us, are the chaff. What if we are the chaff or the winnowing is to remove the wheat in us from the chaff in us? In our prayer life today may we pray for the patience, courage, and hope to undergo the Lord’s winnowing or meet the refiner’s fire.
